| Correct Low Voice Pitch |
| (From Male to Female and Female to Male Voice) |

For patient with very deep and low voice who wishes to raise their |

voice frequency to be sharp and high. (Common in MTF transsexual) |
| |
and high voice pitch change to reduce voice frequency like a man's |
| |
voice (Common in FTM transsexual). |

The surgery is approximately 3-4 hours. Under general anesthesia. |
| - |
There will be a small scar of about 3-4 cm. caused by the incision on |
| |
the Adam's apple. Stitches will be removed after 1 week and the |
| |
wound will heal in time. |

The patient will stay in the hospital for 2 nights for observation. |
| |

| Correct Hoarseness of voice |

For patient with hoarse voice as a |
| |
result of muscle's dysfunction on |
| |
the vocal cord or the dysfunction |
| |
of the vocal cord itself or |
| |
paralyzed nerve. |

The patient will be under general |
| |
anesthesia, inserting a |
| |
laryngoscope through the mouth |
| |
access the vocal cord does the |
| |
procedure. |

The surgery leaves no external |
| |
scar. |

The patient will stay in the hospital |

for 1 night. |

| Pre operative care |

A thorough examination of the |
|
| |
vocal and larynx is done to check the voice frequency, structure |
| |
and shape of the vocal cord and larynx , and vibration of vocal cord |
| |
before the surgery. |

Common cold and coughing should be treated first. |
| - |
Fasting for 6 hours is required before the surgery. |
| - |
Inform take doctor all medications or over the counter you currently |
| |
take and if you are smoking. As some medicines and smoking will |
| |
affect the healing of the wound. |
| |

| Post - operative care |
| |
Patients will stay in the hospital for 2 nights under the close |
| |
supervision of the surgeon, along with the instructions on the post - |
| |
operative care to be strictly followed: |

After the surgery the patient is not allowed to talk for 2 weeks. Any |
| |
communication must be done through writing or sign language to |
| |
expedite recovery or healing of the wound. |
| 2. |
No coughing or heavy expectorate to avoid swelling of the vocal |
| |
cord. |
| 3. |
NO hard or crispy food that may irritate or stimulate coughing. |
| 4. |
You may start eating soft diet and take hormones (if any) in the |
| |
morning after surgery. |
| 5. |
Come back for allow up check or as instructed by your doctor for |
| |
removal of stitches (if any), and for an examination of the vocal cord |
| |
along with voice therapy. |
