LASIK stands for Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis which is the name of procedure for changing the vision error by revealing cover of the front of cornea. Then, doctors will use an excimer laser for changing cornea's curve being deeper as they have computed; after that, folding back the middlesection of the cornea as it liked. From this procedure, patients will have perfect focusing power like they wear glasses or contact lenses.


the surgical procedure by using a knife; called a microkeratome, is used to cut a flap in the cornea for reshaping types of refractive errors of cornea: Myopia, Hyperopia and Astigmatism. Microkerotome is surgical device that use for cutting out the layer of cornea being 1/3 or about 1.6 millimeters . After folding up the front of cornea; which a hinge is hold at one of the flap, doctors will use the excimer laser for reshaping the bend of layer of the cornea at a predetermined depth as they computed. Laser will reshape by reducing the bend of stroma being deeper. In the contrary, for Hyperoria, laser will bend up the stroma, and for Astigmatism, laser will shape the bend of cornea being proper. After reshaping, doctors will fold back revealing the stroma as it was placed by not to suture because it will bind and heal itself naturally.


Remove Soft Contact Lens at least 3 days before
Remove Hard Contact Lens at least 1 week before
For 3 hours-checking, it is necessary to dilate the iris of the eye; therefore, you should not drive because you will have imperfection in the focusing power after checking about 3-4 hours.


Calling before if you cannot come on the day of appointment.
Bathing and washing before coming. Not to make up your face and perfume.
Remove Soft Contact Lens before LASIK at least 3 days and for Hard Contact Lens at least 7 days.
Wearing easy clothes to remove. Front-split cloth is proper.
Eating as you want but after LASIK, if you are hungry, you have to drink or refreshment.
Bring your relative for looking after
In case of irregular symptoms such as pink eyes, eyewinker, flu, cough, sneeze, fever, you have to inform the doctors.




After the procedure about 60-90 minutes, you will pain and have sore eyes like there are pebbles in your eyes, perhaps, tearing much. You should take analgesics or sleeping potion, and then sleep about 6 hours for reducing the soreness.
Doctor will band for not to touch and do not remove the bandage until the day after. You have to remove at LASIK center only.
You should find something to set aside your hair in case you have long hair.


Do not using your eyes continuously within 24 hours after LASIK, such as driving, reading, watching or using computer because it can caused irritating.
Using eye-closer while sleeping for 7 days for not to touch.
Avoiding place that there is dusty or smoking-area at least 7 days.
After LASIK, you can do everything as usual but not to carry heavy stuff or move more which caused sweat in your eyes.
In the first week of LASIK, avoiding wear cloth by head-down. Do not make up around your eyes and be careful water that can be harm your eyes.
Do not swim at least 1 month
Protect your eyes from dust and for relaxing by Sun-glasses at least 1 month.
