| Brain surgery is the treatment for the patient who was diagnosed thoroughly by modern medical equipment and the specialist team and found the illness that should be treated by the surgery such as brain tumors, epilepsy, cerebovascular disease, or severe brain injuries. Head injuries not only cause laceration of the scalp and fracture of the skull, but also affect the brain in various ways which include: |

Cerebral contusion or minor head injury |

Cerebral concussion |

Cerebral hemorrhage |
After the patient receives the primary treatment for the cerebral contusion and goes home, the patient still needs at least 1-2 days of close observation for abnormalities which include:

Reducing in consciousness such as lifeless, senseless or restless, and unable to respond to the conversation and commands. |

Nausea and vomiting |
 |
More severe headache |
 |
Weakness of arm and leg or jerk in muscles |

The patient who has cerebral concussion or cerebral hemorrhage needs to stay in the hospital and need close observation in ICU. The procedures of treatment include: |

1. Always monitor the symptoms of the patient who has to refrain from food and drink for preparation to emergency. |

2. Medical treatment including intravenous fluid. |
| |
3. Special diagnosis which may include :
| |
Skull and other injured organs X-Ray |
|
Special X-Ray to examine blood vessels and abnormalities in the brain. |
| |
Computer X-Ray to examine the brain thoroughly. |
|
| |
4. Brain surgery will be performed in case of cerebral hemorrhage to prevent the patient from illness that may lead to death and disability. |
| |
5. Other treatment for other illnesses that may occur such as injury of other organs and complications. |
| |
6. Medication and physical therapy including cosmetic surgery for the rapid recovery of the patient. |
In case of severe head injury, the patient should be moved carefully because the neck maybe broken, as it may cause more harm to the patient. |
