Will I be asleep during surgery?
The anesthesiologist will administer general anesthesia to keep you asleep and pain-free during surgery.
How long will I be in the hospital?
After surgery, you will be admitted for at least 14 days.
What will the post-op period be like?
To protect the surgical site, you will need to sleep with your legs separated for 5-7 days. During this period, you will be on a liquid diet with low fiber content so frequency of defecation is decreased. After about a week, you will be encouraged to start walking. Depending on your rate of healing, your doctor may also resume your hormone prescription after one week.
