FAQs

How do I prepare myself for surgery?
Do not apply any moisturizer on your skin when you come for vein treatment. Bring along support hose to wear after the treatment. You need to stop smoking, drinking alcoholic beverages, taking hormonal pills, herbal supplements, and medicines (other than those that your doctor allows you continue), at least two weeks before your schedule.
How do I care for myself after the surgery?
• Wear support hose for at least 3 days. Your doctor may advise you to continue wearing support hose for days or even weeks. • Take at least 10 short walks (5-10 minutes each) every day. This will improve blood circulation and reduce post-operative risks. • For two weeks, avoid prolonged sitting, standing, squatting, and heavy exercise. You may return to your regular activities after this time.
What are the risks?
There is a risk for bleeding, infection, skin discoloration and pain.
Is the result permanent?
You can expect to be rid of the unsightly or painful varicose veins after treatment. However, treatment does not prevent the formation of new varicose veins in another area.
